It’s been a hectic week back! But let me tell you, I had such a wonderful trip out in Utah!!

On Wednesday my mother, sister and I landed in the SLC airport. My dad, who went out early to help with the wedding preparation, picked us up. We grabbed some dinner then headed off to my nephew’s varsity football game.

From there we went to a dear family friends of ours, where I stayed the night.

Thursday was the wedding. It was beautiful, of coarse.

Later that night, we met up for the ring ceremony and the reception.

The next day we met up with my family and went off to Salt Lake for some shopping. They built this amazing new mall around a creek, seriously, gorgeous!

Later that day I got picked up by some old friends of mine and we headed to dinner. From there I was dropped off with my sister and brother in law (practically, I’ve only been with my boyfriend for 5 years :-p).

The next morning I got to see my boyfriends Niece. She is getting so big and I hadn’t seen her since she could barely walk!

After that visit I got a ride up to Park City with my friend who I was visiting’s Brother.

We hit up the downtown Park City night life. It was a blast!

The next morning before heading to the airport we had a wonderful brunch at one of the places she works, Riverhorse.

I ordered a Duck Eggs Benedict, which was served over Potato Latkas. It was basically the most amazing breakfast ever!

It was such a wonderful trip!

I apologize, there will be no post this week. I’m going out to Utah for my nephews wedding. I leave tomorrow and will be returning Sunday evening!

Hope you all have a wonderful week, I know I will!

Robert Hall- Red Wine

So, I’m not going to lie, as much as I love my true reds, sometimes nothing is better than a custom red or mixed red wine.

One that would absolutely recommend is:

It has such amazing and rich flavors. Everything you want from a good, true red.

Bridlewood- Cabernet Sauvignon

It is officially Fall!!! Yay!! To bad it still slightly feels like summer down here in Southern California. But we have had a few nights that have definitely begun to cool down, and you know what that means? Reds.

Expect a lot more red wines coming into play over these fall and winter months, because seriously, there is nothing better than a warm, spicy red in the dead of winter with the ones you love.

Take this Cab for example

This cab is one that I would definitely recommend. It’s not to expensive and tastes absolutely delicious! A perfect end to a cool evening. 🙂

Chocolate Cake Shot (Birthday Cake Shot)

As I mentioned in my previous post, my birthday was this weekend. I’m not a huge cake/cupcake person, so instead we opted for Chocolate Cake Shots.

Here’s what you need:

Vodka (Stoli’s kind of my go to on a budget)

Here’s what you do:

1st, just like a tequila shot, I’d recommend prepping the lemons.

Cut into slices

Then top each slice with sugar

See Sugar…

Then mix your shot (we usually have more than one person so tend to use my shaker)

First add the vodka

(please excuse all the silverware in the background, I had made awesome teriyaki chicken and for some reason they were moved out of the sink)

Then add the Frangelico and mix!

(for the record, boyfriends hands, I swear I do not have man hands :-p)

And enjoy!

Just remember, Lemon = Chocolate!!

It really was a great birthday, I of course forgot to take photos at the birthday party, or else there would have been several more shot glasses, but hey, this works 🙂

Birthday Weekend!

I had such a wonderful birthday weekend!

On Friday we went to a poker party which was awesome!

Please note, quick review:

Cheap Vodka=Anger!!! At least it does for me. Cheapest Vodka I’ve been handling lately is Stoli lol!

But off of that note now, back to my birthday!

Saturday my mom picked me up and we started our day of pampering and firsts at Mimi’s Cafe. I have never, like never, had breakfast at Mimi’s. Seriously, one of the best breakfasts I have ever had!! My mom and I split two dishes and it was perfect. We had split a crab cake eggs benedict, which I have never even had a regular eggs benedict, it was delicious!! And then we also split a crepe. Add a mimosa, and it was pretty much perfect.

From there we went to a hair salon that neither of us have ever tried before! I chopped off all of my hair!! I love it soo much! And I have bangs!! I seriously haven’t had bangs since I was in like second grade. 😀

After that we headed off to a new nail salon location that neither of us had been too for mani-pedi’s. And then to the mall for a makeover!!

For dinner we met up with my boyfriend and the rest of the family at Claim Jumper.

Then came party time!!!

Boyfriend had picked up all the trimmings to make chocolate cake shots (birthday cake shots ;-p), that post will follow shortly, the photos I took came out blurry (obviously we all had a little to much fun) so I need to retake some photos of the shots themselves, so look for that on Thursday.

A huge hit at the party was that my friends had bought me a beer pong table for our housewarming/birthday present!!

And it’s portable. Doesn’t get much cooler than that.

I also got a few gift cards for our housewarming/birthday and a bottle of one of my favorite liquors of all time

Crown Royal Black

Seriously, this whiskey is soo smooth and delicious. I’m saving it for a special occasion. But knowing me, the fact that it’s the weekend could be a special enough occasion ;-p.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well!

I wanted to take a quick second to apologize. The past two weeks have been a little weird for me and I’ve haven’t been able to post to much. It’s not that I haven’t had things to post about, I just haven’t had an opportunity to gather my thoughts together. My birthday’s on Saturday though, so things should calm down a little more next week. Please hang in there, I will be returning with full force on Monday!

Thank you all for your understanding, life just happens sometimes.
